2 years ago, I never would have dreamed that I would be living in Quesnel. Yes, it had been talked about, and dreamed about.  But never prayed about.. UNTIL February of 2011. John had some health issues and was really feeling the need to get out of Chilliwack.  I know it is a soft spot for family members, but read on! So we started praying.  "God, if this is Your will, please give JOhn a job that is 5 days a week, not on Sunday,  not heavy work, and with pay enough to live off of."  (Nothing like telling God what to do!) But we wanted to be sure that this is where He wanted us.  So, the job at Rona came up.  Just how it all started was like this:

We went to Quesnel as a family in February of 2011.  On the way, we stopped at A & W in 100 mile house.  JOhn started yapping with an older couple, telling them about what we were doing. They suggested that he go talk to their daughter's husband, the manager at Rona.  Well, he didn't! But he took a phone book home with him.  Fast forward to April, when his health is really going down.  He decides to give the manager at Rona's a call.. and 2 and a bit months later, he was working his first day!

Now, he didn't last there for long (LONG STORY!!), but the next job was better paying, and seeing as his health was a bit better, it didn't matter that it was a little more physical. He got along great with the boss (other than not feeling appreciated) and his co-workers.  He then got a better job.. but got laid off a couple months later because of lack of work.  He hasn't worked since Christmas, but starts a new job on February 19th.

THAT        WAS        GOD'S        PLAN!

Here is how we planned it to go:
1. move to quesnel
2. live in camper until house sells.
3. figured house would sell in a couple of months, and it being summer, living in the camper would be great!
4. buy a house and acreage along Barkerville hwy, and have a hobby farm and huge veggie garden with low mortgage
5.  live happily ever after!

So, we have lived in Quesnel for 19 1/2 months.  John has found out that he does not like living in a small town.  I, on the other hand, have fallen in love with the town! There are a few things that I don't like, the pulp mill smell being one.  But all in all, I love the church and have some awesome friends.

BUT....
JOhn starts his new job in DAWSON CREEK, next Tuesday.  We prayed for work for John, daily, and more, and nothing came up, except this job.  So, does this mean that God doesn't want us to stay in Quesnel?  It's tough...but is there a reason our house didn't sell?  Because we would have purchased a house in Quesnel, with very little research, and a house in Quesnel would be even harder to sell than the one in Chilliwack!

So this is my thoughts of today! Sorry for rambling. But that just summarizes our life for the past 2 years.  It has made me stronger.... happier... more positive. It is a much different life style than Chilliwack, one you cannot explain, unless you live it. I encourage all my family and friends to come visit us.. while we are only a 6 hour drive away.. not 12!!!

winter fun

Just a little bit of what has been going on in the last couple months:

JOhn's birthday cake.. I didn't actually make him a cake, cuz the same awesome friend that made my birthday dinner/cake was making his too!

snowman cookies that the girls decorated for their classmates

each getting to lick one side of the spatula :)

The girls with their new fake nails (they were from the dollar store so they fell off after about 10 minutes)

This is Christmas Eve day.  We went to go get some firewood and pulled the girls behind the truck on the sled.  I went on it too, and it was actually quite fun.  This was on a forestry road so we didn't have to worry about other vehicles.

We even saw a moose!
