ME!

More often than not, my blog includes details about my family, my kids or my hubby.  It's not very often that it's just about me.  Well today it is.  There has been a few things that I've been up to lately, other than the regular.  Once a week, for about 5 weeks, I have been spending the day with a friend making quilts.  Not the fancy quilts that proffesionals do, but if I can say so myself, they are still pretty nice.  We only used material that was gifted to us, so we had to work with what we had.  In the end, we were able to finish 5 quilts before the group had to leave for Haiti, which is who we were making the quilts for.  In the meantime, I was also sewing together re-usable diapers for the same group.  I think I finished 28-30 of them.  It was fun doing this, but it sure would have been nice to see these diapers in action!Once that was finished, I became a member of the Farmer's Market here in town.  I back cookies, bars, muffines, loaves, bread and buns.  I've been told that I have been doing really good, both by other vendors, and a good friend from Quesnel that sells her baking at their Farmer's Market.  I have an awesome fan club that encourages and helps me.  I couldn't do it without them.  I enjoy doing it as I love to bake, but don't do it very often as we don't eat a whole lot of it. I am also trying to get into selling frozen cookie dough. So far no orders, but I'm not giving up!

On top of the farmer's market, I took on re-uphostering 3 cushions.  Two of them are shown, but the 3rd one was almost 6'x1 1/2' long. I got help from my dad, who does it for a job, for the little cushion, but a mastered the other 2 by myself.  Pretty happy with how they turned out.  The biggest challenge was the small floor space, and even smaller table surface (2'sq) that my machine sat on.  All the material just hung off my machine.

Enjoy the pictures.  Sorry for the mismatch of pictures.  For some reason, they don't want to enlarge clearly.  They also don't want to stay where I put them. You get the general idea of what I've been up to.

The flowers were a gift from John after my first Farmer's Market. I hadn't slept well at all the night before, and was compltely exhausted when I got home around 3 on Saturday.  This was a very nice surprise!                                              Click for OptionsClick for OptionsClick for Options
